Love the drone

I don't really know what I should call the strings that are droning on in the background, but I like them.

It obviously needs a work, but It's quite nice sounding. I didn't really like the synth you chose for the bells. It got a little bit on my nerves, and I felt something else could have worked better instead of bells.

The words that come to mind while I listen to this are "bad news" because when I hear this, I think of impending doom or something bad is about to happen, and this is just something that spells out the word war.

An epic battle is about to begin.

I need to foce myself to make a good classical song, I am capable of doing it, it just takes a different kind of effort to make it sound good lol.

Nice song, but not your best. :)

"The title has multiple reasons. Some more apparent then others. Can you figure out why I named it "Entrance Me"?"

Your eyes entrance me. A phrase that means these songs are dedicated to someone special? :) Also, entrance has the word trance in it, which is the genre of both songs (and much more of your music).

Well anyway, on to the review of your ssoonnggggg.................--------!

It didn't have too much really new to it. It was a bit repetitive, and none of the synths really caught my attention. The tune wasn't very memorable either, compared to your other songs.

However, compared to most NG songs, this is still great quality, and definitely worthy of 4.5. I really liked the spikes of lightning in the very beginning, but they seemed to end after the intro, which was a little bit disappointing.

I liked the feel that it created of being in an outdoor shelter. The storm is just outside, and you can reach out and feel the rain, but you're under an overhang.

It reminded me of a christian concert I went to in Boston, which ended with one of my favorite bands playing during a storm. The entire crowd was outside, on a hill, and when the band quit playing, we all had to stand under canopies, to get out of the mud and rain. ;P

Thanks for reading, lol.

Mrmilkcarton responds:

Yeah I'll admit its not my best. This was just one of those songs where I needed to do something to feel a little better. You got the title idea right :P. Dedicated to someone special part, I dunno they dunno we all don't know its just that kind of thing you know. (It confuses me as much as that sentence does)

What I like about this song is the transition starting at 2:25 and ending at 2:32 I wanted to see if I could do a build a little more complex then some of my other songs.

Sounds great!

I haven't heard either mix, but here's my opinion.

I love the hihat you have between the bass and snare. It gives it a mechanical feeling. :)

The synth is pretty much normal for trance, but that's good. I also love the bass in the intro. I was hoping it would come back in later on, but it kept quiet for the rest of the song. :(

Make sure you keep working on this!! :P

itsameyayo responds:

Darn, now that you gave me that one idea, i might have to, lol.

Great theme!

Would work great as a flash menu theme for a racing game, I bet. :D

I love the loop of the guitar. It's really upbeat, and it reminds me of something you would hear in a stadium in the middle of a game of some sort.

If you're going to extend this, I would love to hear the beat completely breakdown right where the song ends :)

Keep it up!! :D

itsameyayo responds:

Lol, that would be insane, DRUM BREAKDOWN, AHHH!

-Thanks!

Trying to vote fairly :)

It was very well put together, and I thought the pad sounded great, as well as the main synth were very good.

The bass needed a lot more power to it, and the drums weren't the best. I liked the song, but it didn't really catch my attention the way Journey and Sytrus! did. It was a bit repetitive after about halfway through, too.

I'm trying to rate most of my favorite songs by you, and build my electronica library at the same time. Downloaded, and reviewed! :D

BTW, I learned a lot from the flstudios.blogspot you posted. Thanks for sharing the information! :D

Mrmilkcarton responds:

Thanks for the input.

Nice!

You use the software like a pro. The song seemed a tiny bit loud (maybe just a tiny bit turned down would have been perfect), but besides that it had excellent balancing, and it's another perfect creation.

If you keep pouring out these, I might not have the time to keep up in listening! :D

Nice work!

Mrmilkcarton responds:

You've got time ;)

Awesome, as usual.

Everything was done very well, and it sounded great, yeah yeah yeah. I've pretty much come to expect it from you now. :P

I love the atmosphere the song has at ~2:14, and the synth you use during that part, and how it blends through as the song starts to speed up.

The one thing I think could have sounded a lot better would be the part from 0:35 to 1:09. It's a little too hardcore compared to the rest of the song. Sure it sounds great, but I think your song would do better if you had toned it down a tiny bit. Perhaps decrease the volume of the kick and off-beat bass, and increase the string/pad's volume, since it has a really cool atmosphere to it.

~Just another fan. :P

Mrmilkcarton responds:

:35 - 1:09 got kinda weird. I'm not as happy with it as I could be. I also like to see if I can blend genres I dunno why but it always ends up happening. Glad you enjoyed it thanks for the review.

Good for a second song.

It's very repetitive, and the drums don't fit in well. It's also way too ambient.

You need some more depth to the song, like another synth, and stronger/louder drums. I did like the tune you had there, but it became uninteresting quick.

The bass was alright. Not good, or bad.

Deathadder99 responds:

Thanks for the review :). My synth and the programs I use are all freeware so I can't get too good of a sound...

About the drums, I didn't know what to do for them so i just tried bass with hihat, so I suppose it's alright. I tried to keep the tune interesting, by changing the harmonics, but I'm no good at build up, so I wasn't sure where to fit in another instrument.

Loops well, well done, but should be longer :P

Oompa, Loompa, Doompadee Doo. I'm got another puzzlefor you!

It was done well, but should have been more than a loop. :D

EpicM responds:

i havent a clue how to continue this... thanks alot though :)

Classic Game

I'm not really a fan of metal music, but Mega Man X was one of my favorite games as a kid.

The song is pretty well done. It has good balancing, and it's not just a midi rip of the song, as many "remixes" are. The one thing I would say to work on would be the transitions from songs. They're not bad, they're just OK.

Nice work :D

KitsuMech responds:

Zomg 10!

And yes, to this very day, Megaman still has a very special place in my heart.

The transitions are sketchy, but that was just me trying to set it up like you were actually playing the game while listening to this. Or something like that, I think that's what I was trying to say.

Haha, anyways, thanks for you time, votes, and reviews >=]
