Niiiiice!

Love the drums, they fit well together.

The tune sounds great, but I was disappointed it was only a loop. I could hear this breaking down and having a sweet lead guitar playing the tune.

Reminds me of a Viper slithering, for some reason ;)

Good for FL Guitars!

Although the FL Guitars aren't the best sounding in the world, you made some pretty cool sounds out of them. I didn't think the tune was very catchy, though. Perhaps if you had an accompaniment playing higher notes?

Generic FL Channels makes it so-so

Sorry to be the one to tell you this, but basic FL Studio channels are easy to identify. The song was pretty good, but it didn't change too much throughout. Dynamics are very important in music, varied volume levels, panning, and your song seemed to have almost none. Your instruments were either playing, or not.

Even a few effects on an instrument can make it much more enjoyable to listen to. The default drums are not very good, and by switching them alone, it would have been much better.

GREAT bass!

I wasn't a fan of the tune, but the bass of this made it sooo much better. You also did some excellent lead ins with the percussion, which brought the score up a lot higher.

itsameyayo responds:

Whoa, didn't think the percussion was that amazing, but I guess it did have some nice flair to it. Thanks! The bass definitely kicks it up a notch :P

Great use of the guitars

I give props to anyone who can use the slayer guitar that well.

I hated using it until I started hearing people use them well in songs on NG. I'm still trying to figure out how to use them well, lol.

ShadowMan-Kage responds:

Well, everyone has their own taste of what they think their guitar wants to sound like....So the settings are mostly trial and error...most of the settings you might want to test with are the Low, Mid, and High settings...But like i said...everyone has their own taste...If you have any more questions, PM me....Ive been using FL studio for about 2-3 years now, I don't know everything but I'm learning every time i make a new song....Thanks for your review and vote Darthfett!

Er... stop using midis

This is nothing but a midi with different channels used for the sounds... Could you at least remix some part of the song. None of this is your original work. I like the game, but i'm tired of hear something I can throw together myself in 5 minutes

Sounds good, but too mellow.

It has a kind of upbeat, cheery feeling. I like some of the effects, but I feel that your song could use many more dynamics, including a stronger bass, building drums (not background).

Mellowing out the song has a nice effect, but it seems to take away from the climaxes of the song, and probably should be used sparingly, not throughout an entire song.

However, your song does sound good, I personally like the mellow beat (a bit repetitive), as well as the choppy (in a good way) intro. Good job. :D

Nightwasp responds:

Thanks for the constructive critism. Will take this into account on my next piece!

Great Layering

Great job on this! I loved the tune and the song as a whole. You are excellent at building upon a tune, and layering it exceptionally well. (The ending is a GREAT example). The only thing I think could be improved upon would be the ending, because it is kind of abrupt. It's not that it doesn't sound good, it just doesn't fit too well with the style of music you have going here. Again, Great work!

How do you do it?

How do you do it? Everytime I go to your one of your new songs, I download it! It's not fair, your music is addicting. :)

Although it's not what you traditionally do, it still has a lot of that Waterflame feel (the beginning and bass especially). I love the banjo's stuttering sound, as well as the quick strings, they make it feel especially lively. They remind me of games I used to play as a kid, like Diddy Kong Racing.

It's too bad that the other songs you do aren't what you love to make, I love them as well. Even if you do start making songs more like this, don't quit making them like the old way!

Has a lot of traditional Christmas spirit

I thought it was a very nice mix of all of these songs. They didn't seem to be much of a remix, but more a nice sounding arrangement.

The 8-bit sounds were an interesting idea, but it needed more riffs like at 2:22 and 2:30. They stick to the theme, and yet give it a cool sound. :)

I've made a new song recently if you want to hear it. :D

itsameyayo responds:

I checked your song, nice :)

-Yeah, I was going for the 8-bit arrangement. I did everyone of those songs by ear, and then I made the chords using the 4-part harmony rules I've learned in music theory class, they're pretty helpful, but I know I've got lots to learn yet!

-Coolio, thanks for the review!
